This February, The Alex Blake Charlie Sessions returns to Pasir Panjang Power Station for another evening of discovery — this time with Mei Semones, the Brooklyn-based Japanese-American artist whose lush, heartfelt sound defies genre.

Blending indie rock, bossa nova, jazz, and chamber pop, Mei’s music — sung in both English and Japanese — drifts between tenderness and precision, wrapping listeners in an otherworldly calm that lingers long after the final note.

Fresh off her acclaimed Kabutomushi EP and debut album Animaru, Mei explores love, identity, and creative freedom with poetic grace. Together with her band, she transforms the heritage space into a shimmering sanctuary of sound — where strings glow, guitars sway, and every chord feels like home.

The Alex Blake Charlie Sessions begins with Cavetown’s long-awaited Singapore debut — opening a season of music that celebrates fearless self-expression and the beauty of artists who chart their own paths.
